The Inter-Library Loans (ILL) service provides items required for academic research work which are not held by any of the University libraries. These items are borrowed from any library in the country and from overseas libraries if they are unobtainable in South Africa.
ILL facilities are available on all the five campuses. Please use the ILL services offered by your campus library or contact ILL staff at your campus for assistance.
UKZN inter-campus loans
Borrowing items from a different campus library from where you are based is handled by Inter Library Loans. Please contact the ILL section at your campus to complete a request form. The item will be dispatched to your library where you may collect it and the item must be returned back to your library. If the item is on the shelves then the turn around time will be within 24 hours.
Take note of the ILL charges that apply to certain requests.
